F B Van Zyl Transport of Graaff-Reinet was established during the mid-sixties by the late Francois Van Zyl senior, and later managed and run by his son Cois Van Zyl.
During 1990 the young entrepreneur and accountant, Buks Kleynhans and his wife Gillian (Milns) Kleynhans grabbed the opportunity and bought FB Van Zyl Transport and immediately renamed the business to FB Van Zyl Transport, trading as Drostdy Carriers.
The existing fleet of Nissan Trucks were soon replaced by Mercedes Benz trucks and new lightweight Aluminium Pantechnicons replaced the older Steel framed Trailers.
The young couple worked extremely hard while raising their children Lindy-Lee, Shaun and Divan.
The business soon expanded and heavy haulage Mercedes Benz Trucks and Inter-links filled the fleet of the rapid growing business.
This business soon became a thorn in the flesh of the bigger existing opposition mainly because of the commitment to good service and affordable transport rates.
Drostdy Carriers has its office in the heartland of the Great Karoo, the lovely town of Graaff-Reinet.
The Administration Office and storage facility was once the Midland Lodge of the Free Masons Movement.
The historical landmark was erected and completed during 1899 and later bought by Buks Kleynhans.
The physical address is 5 Milner Street, Graaff-Reinet.
